Scrolling was so much fun!

Scrolling was so much fun, I actually finished the quilting ....

Then it just needed a bit of a trim and some white binding 


My job is done here so I can hand it over to my lovely daughter!

Scrolling around!

An update on yesterday ....

I'll just be scrolling around for the next few days and trying not to get a pain in the neck again!  

Do you ever...

Do you ever think something is going to be really tricky....

well nigh impossible....

so you put it off for ages and ages....

you look at it and shake your head....

you put it on a shelf...

and try to forget about it?

And then someone comes along and challenges you to do it....

and when you do get stuck in you feel silly .....

because it was easy....

your imagination had made it more difficult than it was....

and you could have done it ages ago? 

This wasn't very flat ....so I ironed it!

I decided I wanted to quilt it with some shiny Rayon Madeira embroidery thread - I was scared of that Rayon thread ....so I practiced with it!

I pinned the heart a lot ....and it went surprisingly.  I love the shiny thread on the shiny Oakshott fabric.  

The heart is all quilted and I'm trying to decide how to quilt the background. 

My two thoughts are big poofy feathers ....but I'm not as good at this as I'd like to be (I want to quilt like Trudi - never going to happen in my lifetime!)

Or straight vertical lines....which are never very straight when I do them and I find very boring to do


Hmm tricky choice!

Siblings Together Twins

As I had Mixed Bag left over from the first Siblings Together quilt as posted chez Lynne on Lily's Quilts

I got cutting at the weekend and started making Mark II!

Even quicker once you've done it before of course, even without a marvellous group of friends from Siblings Together Bee to assist!

I had some Oakshott I picked up from a sale at least a year ago, and as I hadn't any plans for it, I thought it would fit nicely with the bright colours and the orange border that went round this version of the quilt!

I bound it in a Kona red solid for a bit of contrast.

And another quick quilt for Siblings Together and an FQR handover.

Now just got my classes to prepare for and my sample swaps to get ready...ok that is still quite a lot!  I'm sure I can do it though...(fingers crossed).

Two quilts for Siblings Together and who knows if I find another free weekend...

Trial Blocks

Before cutting up my precious Oakshott for the bloghop I tried out my trellis block design on some Kona solids

 And also in some print fabrics

As these are printed I did have to cut reverse triangles ...ie use my template flipped over on the other side.   

As I would love to see a quilt in this block I tried it out with a Picmonkey mosaic of the blocks I have made...

And then I tried this colourway on EQ

Much quicker to make an electric quilt of course but I like it's  potential....and I could play with the colours for hours!

The bloghop continues and today is the turn of my Siblings Together Beemate Sonia - you should see her fabulous rose themed project

Finish Along Quarter 3!

The Finish Along has helped me enormously in tackling my long list of UFOs - so a big thanks to Rhonda, Leanne and now Katy in helping to sort me out.  I have to add my lovely friends from the Lazy Bums in the credits as they are helping on a monthly basis.  Plus some other helpful regulators on IG and elsewhere - you know who you are and have all helped me this past quarter!

So now I have seven UFOs left - these seven....

Three are still in bits - Tulip Dance (top Right), Vintage Circles (3rd from top Right) and Sewing Words (middle bottom row)

The other four are tops - Friendship Garden (large photo), Hexy Big Balls (2nd from top Right),  Love Heart (bottom right) and Stingy Bee Plus quilt (bottom left)

And just in case I finish a few of these in this quarter I am listing these slightly started projects to take their place...

Sample Swap baskets for FQR - using this Routemaster bus design updated to 2014 of course!

Chevron quilt using my Sizzix machine to cut the fabrics which will include the lovely hand screen printed Blueberry Park fabrics from my talented friend Karen!  Not sure what the layout will be but it will include one or maybe even all of these...

Clamshell quilt - another Sizzix project....

Christmas quilt - just one of the blocks planned for this quilt - already a stash of fabrics collected...

This Flowering Snowball Along project planned on EQ

And my Siblings Together Quilt and clone 

Could be I've finished one of these already!

Think this might just keep me busy....
