It is the mad month of March here and my kid are full of germs! Trying to look after them but not inhale! I DO NOT want their colds thank you.
But we are not here to discuss that are we!?
I do so want to see what scrappiness you have been up to!
As for myself, I have been working on my oldest UFO trying to finish the top and I have been getting closer.
It went from this
Where I left it last year - combining two different projects as I was a bit bored with the EPP Rosestars ! Too repetitive for me - I have no patience and was never going to complete the quilt!
To this -
My pieced blocks are more spaced out on the background and I'm doing a bit of hand applique to stitch those EPP Rosestar blocks over the intersections.
And now this -
I am adding the star centres from Jen Kingwell's pattern : Georgetown on my Mind! I was wondering about her sanity as there are 38 of these in her pattern but having made a few I am now an addict!
And how is this scrappy ? Well some is made from stash I will confess but every chance I see I grab a bit from my scrap bins and have done so throughout this project. It certainly has a scrappy vibe to it!
I am even thinking of starting a new project with these cute little blocks but totally scrappy! Hmmm do you think I should?
Imagine the fussy cutting potential...
But enough of my on-going project what about yours...

As for Leanne, she has been en route a lot and has not been up to much scrappiness but she is looking for inspiration! I'm sure everyone can bring a bit of that!

I think your re-working of this quilt is fab and it will be stunning when finished. I think you are slightly mad to contemplate a new project with those little blocks but I am learning that often your craziest ideas are the most fun for you!
ReplyDeleteDo you have a link to what the original quilt was supposed to look like, If I understand from what you said you have changed it.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is going to be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think you should start a new project with those cute little blocks. I'm seeing some fun fussy cut centers!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness--your blocks are gorgeous--should be a fun quilt!!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking stunning!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Don't even think about starting a new project!!
Those stars are spectacular!
ReplyDeleteYes you should!! scrappy scrappy scrappy! :) I am loving this quilt, just gorgeous!! XX!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are wonderful, and your workmanship is just lovely....well done. I look forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeletecheers.

I can see why you love those stars. Very fun and playful!
ReplyDeleteMy Gravity QAL link isn't a scrappy project I've completed, so please don't enter me in the drawing for a prize. I thought I'd link it here because it would look amazing in scraps, and there are a lot of scrappy quilters here!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea to combine projects for a new look. The stars shine on this new arrangement. And I know what you mean about "scrappy". I usually think it's strings but then... I have some smaller squares (less than a fat quarter) or some fabric I've never used. I put those in the scrap bin, too. And occasionally you need to add something peppy and new. So, it seems to me that if it helps use up what you have lying around, it's a scrap quilt.
ReplyDeleteThose little stars are fab, but I think the worry about ending up with s circle is more than enough excuse not to start!!!!
