Sad today!!

My neighbour rang me up last night.

She rang to tell me that she thought my cat had been killed on the road.  It was true - our lovely Emily is no more!

So I am sad today that she had her life cut short.

Hope you don't mind a few photos of her but I'm not thinking about quilts just now!

I am thinking of how we tell her best buddy Clarissa......her grandpa died this year and it has shaken her little world - people die, and her fear is that I will die....I'm hoping it won't be for a while and so is she....but now her world seems uncertain!

And quite a bit less lovely.....

  7. How terrible. It is a nightmare come true. Cat's just don't seem to understand staying in a yard.
They are lovely photos of Emily. A hug to you and Clarissa.

  9. Oh Nicky my heart is breaking for you.
I have lost two special cats, so I understand how much part of the family they.

Maybe tell her Emily has gone to keep Grandpa company..and maybe she has.

  13. I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember so clearly the day my most beloved cat was hit by a car when I was a little girl. I honestly think that early experiences with death are good in the long run. My husband didn't lose anyone till he was in his 20s and didn't know how to handle it. Learning to grieve is an important life experience, though certainly not one of the happy kind. My thoughts will be with all of you.

  14. Oh, Nicky, I was so sad to read your post about Emily. She was a beautiful cat and I'm sure an important member of your household. I know our two catboys are just like family to us. I hope your good memories of her will help comfort you and your family during this difficult time.
    Thinking of you,
    Kimber
