Since I was little I have loved to sew! First of all it was soft toys from this book...
As an escape into the adult world (being by then a stay at home mum) I joined an evening class on patchwork and applique. I bought a Christmas hanging kit by Debbie Mumm and I was hooked - mainly on applique!
I found piecing rather scary at that time but several courses later I actually managed to piece and enjoy that too.
I started blogging in March 2011 and have been inspired, challenged and mainly rewarded by discovering skills I never new I had and enjoying it immensely. Now I enjoy Free Motion Applique and a little bit of FM Embroidery if I dare call it that and raw edge applique. I enjoy making zipped pouches and am rediscovering button holes with a positive attitude!
I had always quilted by hand but I recently took up the challenge of learning how to Free Motion Quilt (my machine did not have a walking foot so I thought FMQ would be my route to machine quilting!) I joined up with Cindy @ Fluffy Sheep Quilting for FMQ Friday! I am still making progress and will continue to do so I hope! Onwards and upwards!
I am keen to conquer my fear of paper or foundation piecing - it is a useful tool! I also want to do more with curves, design my own blocks and write a few tutorials - if only to remind myself how to do something!
I love creating a quilt, a mess, a stash of fabric!
Here is one of the special ones I made
And Dandelion is still around...
I then progressed onto clothes...in my teens and twenties.

The best thing though without a doubt is finding likeminded crazy people like me with a love of sewing, creating and chatting! So thank you all and feel free to drop me a comment or email as I so want to get to know you!
